How far is the nearest shop?
1872 café is a 15 minute walk or 2 minutes drive or there is a shell garage including a Greg's just a 6 minute drive away.

Where is the nearest pub?
The nearest pub is the Lakeview Restaurant (The Muddy Boot) which is a 15 minute walk, The Swan Hotel which is a further 20 minute walk and then just across the bridge is the Huntsman Inn Newby Bridge. Approx. 1.5 mile away.

Do you allow smoking on site?
We would prefer that you didn't smoke on site and in particular, communal areas such as water points and the toilet block.

Do you allow group bookings?
Large group bookings are strictly not allowed.


Do you have showers onsite?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Yes, we have communal Male and Female toilet and shower blocks onsite. 

Is there a minimum number of nights we can stay?
There is a minimum of 2 night stay and for campers staying for more than a week, you may be asked to move pitch to protect the grass.


Do you allow campervans and roof tents?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         yes, we do allow a limited number of campervans onsite, please inform us if you intend to bring one when booking.

Can I play music?
We have quiet hours on site between 9:30pm and 8am, we ask you to consider your neighbours at all times.

Can I bring a kayak/canoe?
Yes, you can bring your own kayak/canoe as there is easy access to the lake, we strongly advise the use of life jackets.

Can I bring dogs?
Yes, well behaved dogs are allowed on site with a lead. Please bring enough poo bags for your stay.


Do you have Rubbish bins onsite?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Yes, we have General waste bins, plastics and glass bins, cardboard bins, battery bins. Please use accordingly. 

What should we do if we know we are arriving late?
If this is the case, inform us as soon as you can so that we can schedule for a late arrival to get you booked in efficiently as possible.

Are cars allowed on site?
Cars may drive up to their pitch and unload all the equipment and once unloaded, the car must then come back to the designated car park. From the car park to any pitch it is a 30 seconds walk.

Is there water points?
Yes, there are water points on sight which are be easily located and accessed.

Is there electric hookup?
There is no electric hook up as of yet, the site is off grid. Please come equipped with energy packs and portable chargers for phones, lights and torches.

What is the wi-fi like on site?
There is no wi-fi on site as of yet, 4G signal on most networks is strong.

Can we hire a fire pit?
Yes, we have fire pits onsite that can be used.

Do you sell firewood and kindling?
Yes we do sell firewood at £10 a bag and there is kindling.

Are BBQs/campfires allowed on site?
Yes, BBQs and campfires in fire pits are allowed, as long as they are keep raised off the ground. If we are experiencing a very dry spell you will be told campfires are not to be lit.  

What is the latest I can book for the same day arrival?
4pm.

What time do we have to check out at?
We ask that everyone leaves the site by 11am.

What time can I check in?
You can arrive anytime between 1.30pm and 5pm.
